Adapted from the novel by Turkish author Saffet Nezihi, "Necdet's Misery" follows Necdet, a recent technical university graduate, who finds himself living on the same street as Meliha, the daughter of a newly arrived family. Despite their mutual affection, both Necdet and Meliha are too stubborn to admit their feelings. Complicating matters, Necdet's childhood friend Tufan ends up marrying Meliha, while Necdet's fiancée dies.
